CRT production technology

Ever since early 1990s our engineers and technicians have been actively involved in the development and design/building of production machines for the concrete roofing tile industry. Over recent decades we have successfully developed into an established machinery and plant manufacturer. Today with our sound concrete roofing tile (CRT) expertise, our very extensive range of machines and devices, and our flexible and innovatively-thinking team we are the ideal people to contact for all matters relating to CRT production technology.

Extrusion machinesFurther details

Extrusion machines

2012 and subsequent models of the continuously operating SCYTEQ chain making machines are available with five output levels:

  • Main and half tiles: output rate 90, 120, 150 and 180 CRT/min
  • Gable and ridge tiles: output rate 45 CRT/min

All our extrusion machines are chain-driven. Thanks to their modular design, our extruders and cutting tables can be flexibly combined with each other, enabling us to fulfil even the most demanding production orders.

  • Release agent applicators and pallet lubricating systems
  • Chain drives/feeds incorporating pallet hold-down unit
  • Extruders (one or two with various form tools)
  • Cutting tables (one or two, mechanically coupled or uncoupled)

Thanks to the modular design of our systems, we can cater very flexibly for your individual requirements. What marks us out are our great innovative abilities and our absolute reliability. Please refer to our catalogue for further details!

Release agent applicatorsFurther details

Release agent applicators

The SCYTEQ release agent applicators which have been specially developed for concrete roofing tile production are non-contact systems which use a rotating brush to apply a release agent to aluminium pallets during production.

  • Main and half tiles: output rate 90, 120, 150 and 180 CRT/min
  • Gable and ridge tiles: output rate 45 CRT/min (including on vertical sides)
  • Release agent: adjustable from 1.5 to 4.5 grams/10 cm pallet

If you wish, our applicators can incorporate a release agent/oil tank, a pump, and a small, simple-to-use control unit for the frequency converter of the brush shaft motor and metering drive.

Rotary filters for pure acrylic paintsFurther details

Rotary filters for pure acrylic paints

The SCYTEQ rotary filters were developed in the field based on practical experience just over ten years ago, and they are now technically mature, fully service-proven devices for filtering pure acrylic paints (by polymer dispersion) which are economical to operate.

  • Totally dependable design
  • Quick and easy to clean
  • Easy to maintain
  • Safe and comparatively inexpensive

As an option, the filters can be supplemented with simple passing filters and agitators for pure acrylic paint containers. We will be pleased to advise you!

Spray boothsFurther details

Spray booths

All SCYTEQ spray booths have a modular design, and they are ideal for the flexible spraying of the upper side and underside of concrete roofing tiles and accessory tiles (e.g. ridge tiles). There are numerous possibilities:

  • 3-dimensional adjustable injection tubes
  • Injection tube redundancy systems
  • Round belt conveyors with either one or two jumps
  • Dirt traps in the round belt conveyor intake and outlet
  • Stainless steel, nano paint-sealed spray booth
  • Settling chambers in the intake and outlet
  • Spray medium filter systems in the intake and outlet
  • Compressed air diaphragm pumps
  • to mention just a few examples!

Linear feeders and automatic rackersFurther details

Linear feeders and automatic rackers

A range of very different processes and procedures is used for drying roofing tiles in their pallets or forms. SCYTEQ offers a range of very special technical solutions for handling tiles in the drying area. The SCYTEQ linear feeders and SCYTEQ automatic rackers are now very well-established parts of our portfolio.

  • Main and half tiles: output rate 90, 120, 150 and 180 CRT/min
  • Gable and ridge tiles: output rate 45 CRT/min

Depalletor machines and correction discsFurther details

Depalletor machines and correction discs

Although they look very simple, the SCYTEQ depalletor machines are in fact very technically sophisticated and service-proven devices for separating the dry roofing tiles from the pallets or forms.

  • Main and half tiles: output rate 90, 120, 150 and 180 CRT/min
  • Gable and ridge tiles: output rate 45 CRT/min

Modified versions of the stripping cutter heads are also used for trimming (cf. SCYTEQ correction discs). This enables unwanted burrs on the sides of the freshly extruded roofing tiles to be removed. The trimmed-off concrete residue is then fed back into the process.

Five, eight, and forty-tile pack collatorsFurther details

Five, eight, and forty-tile pack collators

One way of packaging roofing tiles is to firstly combine them into small packages and then into sets so that they can then, for instance, be shrink wrapped at a much slower speed and placed on wooden pallets. These are so-called collating processes.

  • Five-tile small pack collating (creating small packets of 5 items) of main and half tiles: output rate 90 CRT/min
  • Eight-tile small pack collating (creating small packets of 8 items) of main and half tiles: output rate 90, 120, and 150 CRT/min
  • Forty-tile pack collating (creating sets of 40 items) of main and half tiles: output rate 90, 120, and 150 CRT/min
  • Collating of gable and ridge tiles: output rate 45 CRT/min

Thanks to the modular design of our systems, we can cater very flexibly for your individual requirements. What marks us out are our great innovative abilities and our absolute reliability. Please request our technical catalogue!

Pallet cleaners / form end cleanersFurther details

Pallet cleaners / form end cleaners

SCYTEQ pallet cleaners are used to clean pure acrylic paint (cf. polymer dispersion) residues and coarse-grain suspended matter (cf. slurries) from the transverse and longitudinal edges of sorted pallets/forms as well as from combinations of different pallets/forms.

  • Main and half tile pallets: output rate 90, 120, 150 and 180 CRT/min
  • Gable tile pallets and ridge tile pallets: output rate 45 CRT/min (including on vertical sides)
  • Main tile pallets and accessory tile pallets: output rate 45 CRT/min (including on vertical sides)

For output rates of up to 120 CRT/min, we use so-called SCYTEQ transverse pallet cleaners. This involves the pallets being rotated through 90 degrees in the flow path as they are being transported to the extrusion machine, and the sides of them being cleaned by spring-mounted scrapers.

At higher speeds, the cleaning is carried out by rotating milling heads or scrapers in a paternoster (vertical carousel) storage system. The SCYTEQ Elevator pallet cleaners are available with output rates of 120, 150 and 180 CRT/min. They are used as so-called SCYTEQ universal pallet cleaners for production rings in which main tile pallets and accessory tile pallets circulate at speeds of up to 45 CRT/min.

As a rule, dirt can be very effectively removed from the upper and lower sides of pallets using rotating brushes. Our SCYTEQ brush pallet cleaners provide an excellent way of achieving effective, and sustainably efficient cleaning.
